Why does the world need this book?
Increasing sense that the culture is getting more hostile toward Christians
Stories of people being cut off from family and friends, losing jobs or not being able to get jobs because of not agreeing with culture’s views & practices
As a result, many Christians have stepped back from engaging and have remained quiet on critical issues
What is the common good?
Many people use the phrase common good, but it can mean many different things!
As Christians, we must be clear on our definition of what is good, based on an objective standard, established by God.
Current cultural topics that Christians are hated for:
Christian Nationalism
Social Justice
Abortion
Transgenderism
Sexualization of Children
What about this growing sentiment that Christians shouldn’t take sides politically?
Remember, it’s not about political labels (Democrat or Republican), but it’s about pursuing true justice and righteousness
Culture doesn’t have a problem with partisanship when there is support for progressive policies, but problems arise when Christians align their partisanship with conservative policies
Politics = the way that people living in communities make decisions about how they’re going to live together
Christians must ACT:
A: Know your Biblical AUTHORITY
C: Strengthen CONVICTION
T: Maintain TENACITY
What is Christian Nationalism?
First, get clarity! Many people throw around this label in mainstream media & culture; find out what they mean and how they’re using the term!
If Christians are standing up for righteousness and Biblical values, (such as conservative views on abortion, gender, and sexuality), the world will automatically label us as “Christian Nationalists.”
